My reasons why this particular truck is a truck guy's truck. I also go into the history and specs involved with this particular package on the F-150 from it's light duty F-250 days to the current model. It dropped the 7 lugs in 2015. The truck in the video is a 2013 F-150.

I have a 2013 F150 DHTP 5.0L and it's the 8ft with supercab white. I've got over 203k miles on it and it's amazing. I built myself a drawer system to have my tools inside it with an aluminum ARE cap on the top, that basically equates to about 1000lbs of weight in the back and the truck doesn't even notice that stuff is back there. I was building a deck and put a substantial amount of weight in the back consisting of many 2x8s and the truck didn't notice them back there in the bed.

Great overview of the HDPP option. I'm in the process of trying to find one myself. My reason for needing the HDPP option is to put a truck camper on it. And I don't want to go up to an F250.

I have a 2014 super cab 8ft bed like the white one you showed. I love the truck, but like you said they’re a son of a gun to park. Riding around in the city with it the rear wheels are constantly bumping over curbs too.

Thanks for answering my question about "What was the last year Ford offered the F-150 HDPP?".

You answered my question - how do i know if my 2010 XLT 6.5 bed is HDP package (needed to know as i haul full yard of gravel (2500 lbs or so) and wanted to know if I won't crush my suspension one day). i went outside just now to see and i have only 2 leaf springs, not 3. You da man. Mine is not HDPP, quick decisive answer thanks to your video! Respect.

The HDPP F150 still has a thicker steel frame.

Does this ride a bit rougher with the upgraded springs VS the regular F150s?

I must have the rarest one they made. Its a base 2009 F150 with the HDPP, Regualr Cab, 8 foot bed, 7 Lug wheels, 5.4 V8 and 4x4 F150 XL not an option as plain as you get but will haul anything you through it ...

why not offer the 6.2 with HDPP? Just makes sense to me, unless they didn’t want to cannibalize sales from the F250

Please put your model year in the video description so people don't waste their time clicking on content that's irrelevant to them.

Thanks for posting. I own a 2013 single cab long bed 4x4 with payload package. I use it for pulling bumper pull 2 horse trailer with GVWR of 5370. I am looking to install gooseneck ball in bed to pull gooseneck 2 horse trailer with GVWR of 7000. I contacted my local Ford dealer for advice and I don't think they fully understand the capacity of this truck. Their response
"It should be safe but depending on how many horses they may legally be overweight "

The payload on sticker is 2679 lbs and GVWR is 8200 lbs. Any advice on pulling gooseneck with it? From a Texas Lady!

Sadly, if you go on Ford build and price site and build a F150 HDPP and F250 in same configuration, the F250 is cheaper in price .

8 foot beds are a serious f150’s, not short beds.
