You are right that is pretty late considering the show is done for most people

40 dollars for 289 parts. That Disney tax has gotten nuts.

I think Lego doesn’t want to include any major spoilers to the finale of mandalorian season 3, kinda why Ahsoka and presumably Bad batch finale sets are coming very late for those who haven’t watched the finale of stuff like mando yet

Those aren't the Emperor's guard's, they are Imperial Praetorian Guards.

Season 2 aired dec 2020, and the luke/dark trooper set 75324 only released March 2022, 15months later. This is the same as it’s part of the final episode scenes of season 3 which aired March 2023, 15 months later we get this. I’d like them earlier too but we did get 3 sets last year. This may be the last mando set we get for a while too!

It's probably because major plot stuff has been leaked through Lego sets in the past, and Disney wants to avoid giving out spoilers.

It’s already out and that’s not a new Paz Vizsla

You know it takes time to design a set right? They most likely watched the show first in order to ensure lucasfilm wouldn’t f them over again with unused concept art

I personally think their problem is prices. Lego as a hobby was never cheap to begin with, but they now are definitely overvaluing their sets

Well this complaint (other than the cost. F u Disney) feels a little arbitrary. Maybe it’s to remind us that this happened with cool new figures!

It’s takes a year to plan and release a Lego set which they usually base them around concept art and they only have a certain amount of slots to fill within a budget

Love how lego fans want sets as soon as something comes out but also get mad when that happens and “spoils” it lol

So you see, Lego revealed the season 3 sets in the middle of the season and this set is such a massive spoiler for the show because it had Moff Gideon In it and Paz Visla DIED in that scene so it’s not such a big deal and anyways Lego didn’t ruin it they just didn’t wanna spoil it for us

The real problem it's the pretorians weapons that are Simply goofy, and moff Guideon don't have his cape

The staff piece for the guards would work great for a Darth maul lightsaber hilt

Lego should make more Red Guards and praetorian guards

It’s not Lego, it’s Lucasfilm. The time to take a set from development to production to distribution can take years and Lucasfilm doesn’t want their plot details swirling around in the open for that long. That’s why we get sets like the Spider Tank close to the show’s release, because it doesn’t have any major main story spoilers. It’s interesting though, cause George didn’t care back in the day, and those Lego sets, video games, merch, were all ready to go when the prequels came out. He was both a better storyteller and entrepreneur, though spoilers probably weren’t as big a deal when he didn’t have to contend with the ubiquity of the internet nowadays.

Lego releases sets very late cause they don't recieve pics or scenes as much as they use to, plus every set has to be approved by several groups at Disney. A lot of times, sets won't get prototypes until a show is already out, then gets finalized design, then approved by disney, then a get mass produced, by then it could be a year plus.

To be honest, I'd think if the plot armor people joined with the bad guys it'll be overkill...
