"In the years that followed our rebirth, the world was filled with two kinds of people; those with power to make change, and those who stood in their way.
"The ages of the Warlords taught people to be afraid of us, who could channel this power that we had been given. A power we could not fully understand.

"So it was decreed, by a select few, to rise up and stand against this tyranny, with fire, sword, axe and cannon at our disposal.

"They told me to join them and fight for the cause, to end further fighting. It would be the start of a paradise, for all whom sought shelter.
"I agreed to this, and became one of them, giving all to the cause for peace and unity. But I was met with suspicion and speculation, from both my newfound comrades-in-arms and the heralds of the ravenous Warlords, easily lured into infighting over territorial claims.
"And I saw that those who chose to unite to the cause, to end the fighting and usher in peace for all, could just as easily be swayed by temptation and greed.
"Many fell down this path, bringing more suffering to those who already suffered, and boasted their wealth and powerful gifts. They sacrificed their virtue, their honour, their sacred oath to the cause...for pride.
"I was approached by one of the downtrodden, who pleaded for an intervention from me and my other Lords. They stayed their hands and kept silent. I did not.
"From dusk that night to the first light of dawn, I took my blade and carved out their names from the sky, dragging them down from their pedestals and into the filth and grit of our level, where they belonged.
"How they pleaded for mercy, from one with none to offer. Shotgun blast hit their chests, and even their Ghosts were struck at their core.
"My comrades-in-arms were in uproar over my actions, that were prohibited by their decree. But this was justified killing, not mindless slaughter. If dispensing frontier justice and ridding the lands of the Warlords of old means that I am to take questionable actions in the eyes of my peers, then that is what I shall do.
"I sit atop the mountain, gazing out from the Temple of Iron, looking over the world which we are attempting to build on the ruined bones of the old.
"I see hope for the future.
"I keep my brass shotgun by my side, should the need arise to take action.
"I am the Dark Horse of Iron.
"My name is Felwinter. Once Warlord, now Iron Lord. I am a protector of the people. I am...a Guardian."
