How to Program Your Subaru Vehicle’s Memory Power Seat and Mirrors

Your Subaru vehicle can remember your personal Power Seat and Mirror settings with the memory buttons, the touchscreen, your key fob, or the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System, if available. This overview will show you how to set your Power Seat position including height adjustment and the outside mirrors so you can start every drive with comfort and safety.

For select models and trims when equipped:
• 2019 and newer Forester, Ascent
• 2020 and newer Outback, Legacy

This video was super helpful. I had been having issues where I had no idea how to reset my mirrors to my driver profile, so every time I would get in the car, it would go to a mirror position that was not good for me, I was getting pretty frustrated.

You forgot the part about register user. You just can’t touch the screen and update settings. You have to register a user and do a facial scan. The method you show is only if you already have a registered profile and want to change the settings.

Just a heads up Subaru sells power seats in some trim levels but does not include seat memory with all of them. So if you are taller and another driver in your household is shorter, be prepared to have to open the door, sit there and wait for the seats to go back farther so you can just sit in the car and set the seats back up for yourself. ... and repeat this cycle every single time you and the other person uses the car. It would have been better to only sell the power seats with the memory option together. Instead every time my significant other and myself drive the car, we have to do the 15 sec power seat shuffle/move.

The driver Focus scan recognizes me about half the time, if I’m lucky! Big waste of money if you ask me. Like a lot of the electronics on my 2021 Outback Touring XT, very buggy! Door locks, hatch sensor and infotainment system, works when it wants to!

This is definitely a problem with my 2020 Legacy. I think it is using a DEFAULT setting rather the user attributed to me. Unable to get rid of the DEFAULT setting. Also there is no option for seat and mirrors control associated with a user. It should have these features, I think.

This does NOT apply to the 2022 Forester. Its touch screen is completely different commands and menus.

I was able to set the memory for the seat but it always returns to a setting that I did not set, why can’t it just stay in one position. So annoying.

The memory for my seat setting has not work from day one on my 2016 and now on my 2018. Dealer could not figure it out. Is there a recall or a fix for this?

I have a brand new 2022 Outback Premium and neither mirror nor power-seat memory are present. The buttons in the door are not there, and the driver focus listing in the settings is missing as well. This was a feature the salesman got us all excited about and now it's not available. Please change your advertising!
