It isn't simply a choice between whether or not he just says stuff thoughtlessly or that he's playing "4-D chess" (a term often used to mis-characterize people that disagree with Ben on this). There is a strong market for thoughtful discourse, dialogue, and debate.

Trump is also more potent than most Republican politicians in the modern era, and it is a shame to me that Ben doesn't quite understand how important that is and why that is. Wax philosophically all day long; it is useful and good. It is not useful or wise to think that is potent enough to keep the left from crushing most people to the right of them.
