Former Buddhist here. I became a Catholic few years ago. What a long journey for me. I used to live in a country that’s 90-95 percent Buddhist. Trent, you are one of the reasons why I became a Catholic. Thank you for all your hard work!

I believe in the future, Charlie will become a Catholic too. I mean… look at what happened to Keith Nester and Cameron Bertuzzi.😊

Also, part of Charlie Kirk's problem is that he's a political Christian, rather than a 'mere' Christian. His objections to Catholicism were focused on Pope Francis having political opinions he didn't like; however, he liked Pope John Paul II because he affirmed his political worldview. Favoring Christianity because you think it produces good politics is a vapid version of Christianity.

Trent, I am so impressed with your videos lately. They have been of utter quality. God bless you and your family.

In truth, there are only two kinds of people; those who accept dogma and know it, and those who accept dogma and don't know it. - GK Chesterton

When your ecclesiastical views boil down to “you’re not the boss of me” you have entered American Evangelicalism.

A problem with western culture is it idolizes freedom, and protestantism being western mirrors this. In our society, it is "my body my choice" "no one is the boss of me" "you cannot tell me what is right or wrong" "these are my pronouns" and with protestantism they have the same thing, a pope cannot be above me because i am my own boss "my interpritation of scripure" which i find quite sad really.

Yes! I'm so glad a Catholic apologist finally addressed this. This "debate" was such a set up.

Knowles' amicable, Socratic style is intentional, although it suits long form discussions better. He's in the business of planting seeds, not winning debates.

As a Protestant, the issue I believe Charlie Kirk is saying is not “I’m American and I don’t need a boss”. Protestants have a Pastor in their life and they are still under spiritual mentorship and authority, Charlie Kirk is rather saying that the religious institution of a Pope, does not have scriptural exegesis. You can take many different verses such as Ephesians 5:23
“For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.” Jesus Christ in scripture is the head of the church, not Peter. I believe this comes from a difference of opinion on what Jesus meant by “on this Rock, I shall build my church”. Peter may be considered by Catholics to be the rock, and in essence the first pope, but I believe Jesus was actually talking about a rock/mountain he was preaching at.

I was a "luke warm protestant" converted to Catholicism 7years ago when my then boyfriend (now husband) pressed me to look into the evidence of transubstantiation. I LOVE my catholic faith and am so grateful for the church God gave us.

Peter denying Jesus is pretty crazy and yet Christ left him as the leader.

I get your point with the Calvinist example but some Calvinists absolutely consider other Protestants heretics for not believing in Calvinism lol

I'm a Catholic from Poland, and there's a few thing I personally do not agree with Pope Francis, so what? Jesus founded our Church, and our Lord Jesus gave the keys to St Peter, so Francis is another successor of Peter, a part of sucession established from the very beginning of Church. Peter himself was not perfect, even Peter had some arguments with Paul... we are just human beings. I'm not a part of Holy Catholic Church because of Pope, I'm here because of God almighty and His will. I respect Pope but I do not need to agree on everything, without Pope and hierarchy we would end up like protestants.... 40 thousand denominations and keep splitting - with full respect to protestants though.

I felt that Charlie uses his politics to shape his religious views. But it should be the other way round.

Truth be told. I’m a Mormon, who was raised Protestant. My niece converted to Catholicism, I would rather her be a Catholic vs a Protestant. I feel that the Catholic faith has more to offer her than my Baptist upbringing.

Trent is reasoned, calm, and Catholic! We are so lucky.

Knowles was so gracious with Kirk considering he wasn’t prepared to be attacked like that!

As an Anglo Catholic, Catholicism makes sense I want to get right back to basics I am going to attend Melkite services and convert.

I felt so bad for Knowles. Kirk, like a liberal, framed the debate, right from the jump, in a way that if Knowles disagreed He looked bad.
Knowles disagreed with the statement, "you should be leading people to Jesus, not Catholism."
Kirk framed it in such a way that if you disagreed with him you were disagreeing with Jesus.

When I realized that no pope in history had ever wielded the level of self-assumed, doctrinal authority that Luther and the reformers claimed for themselves, the house of cards began to collapse quickly. Transitioning from non-denominational to Catholicism has been one of the most eye-opening experiences of my Christian journey.
