COVID-19 cases rising in U.S. as new 'variant of interest' emerges

The World Health Organization is calling the JN.1 COVID-19 strain, a subvariant of the Omicron strain, a "variant of interest." Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, joins CBS News with details on the virus's spread.

I treated two patients with covid yesterday. One had the sniffles for one day than no other symptoms. The other lady had a mild headache for one day and also she had no other symptoms. I treated them with- supportive care. No medications prescribed.
