The USSR was not a country but the forced amalgamation of 15 countries where the majority lived in abject poverty due to a forced, corrupt repressive political regime and economic stagnation. I was thrilled for all its people when that regime collapsed.

I appreciate your honesty regarding today’s situation in Russia and candid analysis on the impact of the recent US elections.

Most Americans have been living in a demoralised limbo for the last 4 years. Some of that caused by the Biden’s administration’s bad governance and forced funding of the war in the Ukraine while unprecedented numbers of tax payers are struggling to put food on the table for their families; many dependent on food donations and soup kitchens.

Whatever our differences, I pray for you as a people and fellow human beings that better days are ahead for all of us.

As a 77 year old American, I can say that I have never before seen my country so divided either. But if you lived here for the last 8 or 9 years, you would have seen continued, and unrelenting propaganda about fear of "others" coming, "taking" "ruining" things. Once fear is instilled in a population they are easily manipulated to act against their own best interests and each other.
