This song is simply beautiful as indeed is the whole album. For me, Wishbone Ash are the finest twin lead guitar band to have ever walked the planet.

This is one of those songs that if the solo at the end was 20 minutes longer you still wouldn't tire of listening to it. Just a great band ☺️

The nostalgia is excruciating. I played the live WA tape I dubbed from my friend nonstop as a UniJos medical student in the 80s. It was my favorite leisure. Then I lost it as a young doctor. Now thx to YouTube, I could play it again. Joyful, tearful nostalgia! Dr Emeka Agbasi, Onitsha, Nigeria, 60+.

Quite simply one of the best songs ever written of any generation. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Wishbone Ash 20+ times over the years, incredible band but this for me amongst many brilliant songs is the best thing they’ve ever written…❤️

The most beautiful thing about Persephone is Laurie Wisefields sublime solo. One of the most melodic I've ever heard.

music like this makes me feel blessed to have grown up in the era i did and feel sorry for todays kids.

I love the way the rhythm guitar plays a triplet at the end of each bar, echoing the rhythm of the name Persephone. This is something a musician hears and just does naturally, probably without thinking about it.

I don't want to die just to listen this song again and again!

one of wishbone ash's finest songs.
it will probably be a 100 years before 'persephone' is really fully appreciated.
just like young people today discover classical music, so they too will discover the majesty of this truly under rated song and band.
it would be interesting to hear a full orchestra and choir attempt to equal the magnificence of this fantastic piece of work.

Martin Turner's bass part makes this song. For me, one of the most melodic bass players.
