don’t let perfection hold you back from sharing your work #musicproducer #shorts

When I first started producing, I’d spend hours, sometimes days, tweaking a single sound or obsessing over the tiniest details in my mix. I was so caught up in trying to make every element perfect that I’d lose sight of the bigger picture: finishing the track. It took me years to realise that perfection is a moving target—it’s subjective and often impossible to reach. Instead of getting stuck chasing an ideal, I learned that focusing on consistent progress, track by track, is what really leads to growth. Every project teaches you something new, and that steady improvement compounds over time.

Producing music is like building a muscle—the more you practice, the stronger you get. Each imperfect beat, slightly messy mix, or unfinished idea is a stepping stone toward developing your unique sound. Looking back, the tracks I finished and moved on from, even if they weren’t “perfect,” are the ones that taught me the most. Progress is about embracing the journey, learning from the process, and understanding that every track, good or bad, is part of your story as an artist.

So, don’t let perfection hold you back from sharing your work or finishing that next tune—because sometimes, done is better than perfect.
