While I don’t disagree with all of your points and appreciate the purpose of the video, I would add that although many seniors (my mom) would be fine navigating an iPhone, my mom has that flip phone for two reasons: 1. the monthly service cost is 1/4 of a smartphone and 2. She simply wants a device to make calls. That’s it. Big numbers or not. Cheers!

Thanks guys. As a senior, I can truthfully say that I really like my 5s. I used a Casio flip phone for years and it was more convenient than my iPhone because it was easier to keep protected in my pocket. Now that I am retired, I would never go back to a flip phone. Most of my senior friends a very tech savvy.
It's a sad thing to be a senior in American culture because no one respects you as a person or for the knowledge you have acquired. We have much to contribute if anyone were interested. Now, I understand why my grandfather was so grouchy. LOL

Senior here. Computers and phones and iPads are so necessary. Thanks for your videos that help with so many questions and possible problems.

I live in a retirement building with 200 apartments. I help seniors with their phones a lot. These guys do not differentiate between different elderly users or users needs. For example: If there is an unlock screen, some due to mobility issues cannot get the pin number in, before the phone goes to voice mail. The voice mail cannot be used by some because there is too many sequenced steps to remember to get to voice mail and use the functions in voice mail. How many seniors have these guys actually sit down with and helped with their phones?

Sounds like an I-phone comercial. You're missing the point. Seniors fingers are not as agile as younger folks. Seniors drop phones because their hands, their eyes, their ears don't work as well. My parents want buttons they can push instead of a touch screen. I've gotten my folks several phones. They struggle, they mess up settings, they get talked into putting apps on their phone by sales people they don't need. This is a terrible video. I need to get them a phone that gives them apps that are practical for them to use but buttons to push to answer and hang up calls. A way to lock them down so they can't add or delete apps.

Wow...I love you guys! Finally someone is making it clear that not all seniors are helpless, and can’t think straight! Some of us love digital devices. They are a large part of my day...from doing bills, online purchases, texting, and yes even making the occasional phone call. This segment definitely made me smile! Thanks guys!

Getting our Mom a smart phone Sunday. Wish us luck. I think she’s ready. She was a kindle and is now familiar with icons and downloading apps. So excited for her. (76 yrs old).

You guys are such gentlemen.

How about the Jitterbug Smart2? You spent a lot of time talking about flip phone vs. smartphone but very little time on best cell phones. The title should have been Flip Phones vs. Smart Phones for Seniors.

I am a 63 year old being forced to get a smart phone for work, andI don't want to. I had the same flip phone for 13 years-without it breaking until ATT didn't support 3G any more. They sent me a new flip phone that is much harder to use, but I powered through the learning curve--I think they made it hard on purpose so that I would have to upgrade!

They spent most of the time denying that many seniors struggle with smart phones and denying this problem exist and these guys don't even accept there is a problem, so what are they doing on this video and no help at all

As seniors my wife and I enjoy our iPhones and iPads very much and we are in our 70’s. (Also being older and retired we have the money to buy them)

The seniors I know who won’t try to use phones and computers or tablets are afraid they won’t be able to learn. AND who will teach them - they have no-one close to them who can show them and be there when they want to use it. Even when I offer to go over how to send a text at least three times before asking them to try - they are afraid.
Memory problems are very relevant here and software is constantly changing the way things behave. They are two big barriers.

I’ve reached the Senior mark and love all the bells and whistles. My mom is 85 and participates in group messages with her great grandkids. When Mom took her phone to her carrier for an update, the service rep was TOTALLY SHOCKED at how much it had been used. Fear is the only enemy here.

Not a senior, but a new iPhone user who has learned everything about their new phone from this channel, thank you. Also Inwoukd never give my senior mom a mindless flip phone she deserves better.
