i am not able to find Intel SST in my device manager.

I was so happy that the video was text based instruction, I burst out laughing when I resumed the video after applying the fix and there was actually music.

Thank you! Method 1 worked for me as of 9/29/2021. NOTE: My PC has two Intel(R) Smart Technology drivers that end in SST. So, if this is you, be sure to check both. For me, the one recommended in the video was up to date. But the second one, ending in SST OED, was the culprit. Updated it and VOILA!

For anyone watching this in 2020:
If you have an Acer Laptop, you will be able to follow the steps and it will fix the problem. This is a huge lifesaver for me as I spent all day looking for a way to fix this.

Thank you so much for this post, I really appreciate it. I lost my sound the day before yesterday and I went as far as reformatting my laptop to get sound back, turns out I just needed to update the drivers manually. lol, oh well at least I have a clean computer now

I've been trying everything I could think of for the past three (or two, I can't remember) days! We were going to take it to a computer shop, and the person said it would cost about £30 to do it.

When I click list of available drivers on my computer and click the high definition audio controller and update it, all it says is “this device cannot start. (Code 10)”
