Exploring the East Coast of ICELAND, like you have NEVER seen it! Chapter 4

Next leg is going from Faskrudsfjordur to Neskaupstadir, exploring the Icelandic, vast fjords and mountains along the way. Finnally the sky cleared this day, revealing the real true beaty of Icelands famous east coast. It is not often these parts of the huge island is visible like this.

The fjords on the east coast are amazing pearls in Iceland that very few people explore. Most of the coast is inaccessible and has never been farmed or settled as building roads around there usually means that you need to drill a hole through the mountain. Your visit to Hellisfjörður is an example, there was a whaling station there around 1870-1890 that was operated by Det Danske Fiskeriselskabet. Records (the church registry) have a single family living there in 1904, but nothing after that.... Amazing view you gave us with your footage. Thank you Erik
