I bought a pair of Knipex slip joint pliers 25 years ago. They were very expensive and I thought I was being a little foolish.

Been a massive fan of Knipex almost 20 years now, since my first Auto-Adjusting Pliers and 11" High Leverage diagonal cutters. My favorite tool is their $140 double pivot battery cable cutter #PWCDP9. Used these babies for years to cut 4/0 cables, and around fifty 18 gauge wires at once with one hand!

Makes me proud of my German lineage.

Yeah, channel lock made a plier like this years ago that I purchased and have almost never used. It still looks brand new sitting in my tool chest at the shop while my other pliers are nicely worn. Very niche design.

They are also perfect for turning things that don't have any straight edges either. The point part on the bottom jaw pinches into the fitting.

You may be right about the Knipex pronunciation, but Aha! The tool name is Raptor, not Raptors. You can see it spelled that way on the handle. Your move ♟

It actually works pretty good on round pipe or rounded out nuts as well. Just gotta adjust it so that the bottom jaw bites on the point instead of the flat side
