I worked as fashion model for years.
I have done lingerie fashion show and I have been in magazines.
In 2019 I revert to Islam.
Since September 2023 I have been wearing hijab ( the piece of cloth I have in my head ) and the I have NEVER felt as free as now before in my life. Lots of love from an Italian Revert.

Covering up is for modesty, protecting your femininity and sexuality from unwanted men's gaze, also a sign of obedience to God. Some women don't wear it and we can't force them.
Personally I feel safer covering up.

Yes brother, it’s in the Quran chapter 33 verse 59.

“O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized ˹as virtuous˺ and not be harassed. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

EDIT : For those asking "Where's the verse about men" Allah FIRST tells men in chapter 30 verse 31, "˹O Prophet!˺ Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do."

The first order was for men to lower the gaze, then it was for women to protect themselves by covering up.

I'm a revert/convert. I'm originally from Denmark but live in the UK. I grew up in a christian (not very practicing) home. I converted to Islam in '95. The first year I didn't wear hijab but then started wearing it. I now have 2 daughters who wear hijab and one of them also chose to wear niqab. Nobody forced us to wear it.
I love wearing hijab (most of the time) and I love the smiles I get from other women in the street.
On a trip to Denmark, I was out shopping with my daughters and an elderly danish gentleman looked at us and said: "you look like three angels".

I’m a single mother. No one ever asked me to wear hijab. Cover my hair. I do that myself for the sake of Allah. It’s my identity as a muslima. Liberated.

Can we please appreciate the fact that he asked so nicely and respectful? 🤗Cause some people don’t even bother to ask, they just start assuming things and hating..

I'm 22. I started covering up when I started learning islam 5 years ago, and I can not imagine myself without it. It distances me from strangers.Protects my dignity.A visible sign of me being Muslimah, which I love the most.

I'm a revert elhamdülillah. I was raised by Christian family and used to go to the beach wearing bikini, going out wearing shorts, tops with a silver long hair and full make up... I never felt satisfied with my look even though it was a very stylish look. When I reverted to Islam, it took me 3 years to wear the Hijab because of my parents and the society, but when I did so I felt very satisfied and I'm so happy choosing the Islamic lifestyle. I felt more respected by others, no one can look at my body anymore neither my face, because I chose to wear the Nikab as well and cover my face. No one forced me to do so, i did it with satisfaction and happiness and I'm proud of it.

I’m a muslim girl of 17 years and just like reading the Quran gave you immense peace, I feel immense peace wearing the hijab☺️. I cover my face and my hands too. It gives me so much happiness to know I’m pleasing Allah. It fulfills me. No one is forcing me, my family thinks I’m extreme but I have some friends that support me. I’m from Pakistan btw.

When a woman puts on less clothes, people say she's empowered. But when a woman wears viel or gown, people say she's oppressed. So, people are actually saying that a woman is only powerful when she dresses sexier? THIS IS SICKENING.

Been a businesswoman and travelled a lot around the world before islam. I have never been more happy in my life than since reverting to islam. I definitely love my hijab. Islam is so empowering to women. Is just that people are in front of propaganda and getting misinformation every time and especially when it comes to muslims.

I was born a Muslim, lived my entire life uncovered and my main worship revolved around salah and fasting. 4 years ago at 38 years old I decided to wear the hijab, and I've never felt as free, confident and in control as I do now. It's not only a piece of cloth on the head, it represents everything I believe in and reflects my utmost love and dedication to my Creator subahno w ta'ala

I became a muslim 2 years ago at age 25. The experience was very physical and spiritual. I LOVE wearing the hijab. I feel feminine, safe, powerful, covered from all the bad in the world.

I converted to Islam at age 15, I am now 51 and have been wearing hijab all this time. It's a beautiful thing❤ I have zero regrets. It's very liberating to wear hijab! The exact opposite of what the west believes.

Translate:
And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

This makes so happy. Someone actually asking reasonable questions and wanting to know about Islam. Well done.
