Hello, just watched this amazing video, I'm proud to say that I'm the creator of "Logo Menu" extension, feels great to watch someone use something I worked on.

I'm posting this just to save some people time. Without a working global menu for the latest version of Gnome, these instructions are obsolete. Fildem stopped support at Gnome 41, and Fildem-v2 stopped at Gnome 42. Trying to use this extension with Gnome 43 and 44 results in some apps being able to display the global menu, but not all functions working. In other apps, the global menu is completely ignored.

Other extensions shown in the video also don't work in Gnome 43 and 44 such as App Grid Tweaks and Floating Dock. Floating Dock can be replaced with Dash To Dock, which works fine. Frankly, App Grid Tweaks is not necessary.

This is the first Mac-like customization I’ve seen that actually feels better than the real thing in some ways. I only hope that Gnome 42+ won’t kill customization, or if it does that something like Pop Shell will be a viable alternative for those of us who prefer the style of Gnome to KDE…

Great customize tutorial! Also, mutter-rounded can make you reach another level of customization making window bottom corners rounded!

Make Ubuntu (or an ubuntu distro) like this out-of-the box and see how many will install it :)

Heads up to anyone looking for the best macOS clone until Cutefish DE is ready for daily use: this is the best one. Don't even try the KDE version. Yes, the global menu in KDE is better, but the rest of the desktop is buggy to the point of unusability once you're done. Hopefully it won't be long until Cutefish implements workspaces and more settings.

Great as always. I managed to get this working on Fedora 36 (GNOME 42), except for App Grid Tweaks and Cerebro.
But I have a question, I believe I followed everything correctly, yet I don't know how you make the status bar buttons at @1:03 work. Is it related to Cerebro? I do have Fildem Global Menu and HUD working fine (or so it seems, they do open and I tried them on LibreOffice working fine), and I noticed the text is actually added through Unite config file that you provided. But how do you actually make them work? Right now i just have them on the status bar but they're plain text, not clickable. Did i miss something?
