The reason behind our Covid measures have nothing to do with science. It has everything to do with politics. It is obvious to all in HK that we cannot stop the spread of Omicron, yet since China insists upon a so called "zero covid" policy, our leaders are trying to create activity and policies to appear to be trying to stop the spread. The cost of such policies will be high, we are neglecting any support systems that try to help people recover at their own homes, and since our city has never been hit on a wide scale by other strains we have no natural immunity amongst our community to speak of. Many of our citizens took the Sinovac vaccine, which has been proven to be totally ineffective against the omicron strain (experiments conducted by the Hong Kong University).
