I Calculated How Much Time Carlos Sainz Gained From Appendix Surgery

Carlos won the 2024 Australian Grand Prix after his appendix removal. In this video, I calculate how much time he would have gained from that weight being removed, and if it had any affect on his race. Carlos Sainz did gain some time, but lets see how much!

Looks like we need to get Alonso on that operating table now...

2:42 "If Alonso removed his appendix quickly before the race"

I don't know why, but this cracked me up.

HAHAHHA bro "Had Alonso quickly removed his appendix he would have beat vettel" and "Should Formula 1 teams start harvesting their drivers organs?" Had me dying.

Now this is the high-quality content I come to this website to watch.

The "should every F1 team start harvesting their driver's organs? Probably not" line fucking had me

Now lets get Carlos in Endurance racing, imagine the time he would gain across a whole race

Teams: Strips paint from their car to gain time
Carlos Sainz: Strips his damn appendix to gain time

Imagine someone coming out on top of the triple-tie at the European GP in 97 because their removed appendix gave them the extra millisecond saved.

"Should every F1 Team start harvesting their Drivers organs.." 🤣

As an athlete that actually lost his appendix and came back to represent my country, I confirm this.

Nico Rosberg: Refrains from cycling to lose leg mass, get's pole at Suzuka by 0.002 secs and takes the win, which was necessary for him to win championship.
Carlos Sainz: Likes cycling too much (I'm guessing). Decides to remove appedix instead. Presumably get's pole position at Suzuka by 0.002 seconds and takes the win, which was necessary to win the championship.

I love everything about this. Especially the depth you went in to!!!

Its not only the appendix, during post surgery time, weight loss is also an imp feature

Mazepin chose to race without about 1.3kg of brain. Theoretically, that should have earned him every championship since 2021. Unfortunately, he didn't realise having a brain is a little bit more important than an appendix.

Verstappen probably doesnt have any organs because hes so fast😂

Interestingly, even though lighter drivers weight advantage it mostly negated by the ballast under their seat, the ballast marginally lowers the cars centre of gravity which does improve handling ever so slightly.

Yo that's wild. I had no idea Yuki had to add weight to his car. Wtf are those rules? I suppose without it all F1 drivers would be like horse jockey sizes...

The assumptions and rounding in this video can only rival physics questions assuming penguins are spherical

Without the appendix he is that little bit lighter.
