This is so bitter sweet. Barney knows Bob isn't his father but the idea of him being Barney's father gave him hope through childhood. Meeting Bob was still exciting as he meant so much to him as a kid.

He was such a mind blowing character with so many amazing moments of perseverance, romance, bromance, friendship, excellence, mystery, focus, dedication, commitment.... he came through for all n ways n beyond n they did him wrong !!! Mostly not even including him in future projections of growing old
