After Aeroplanes and cars, what’s next?
Well, the demand for unicorns seems to be pretty high in Britain.
Build those then!

The Tories bailed out Nissan in Sunderland by they refused to give Honda anything. Hope Swindon remembers that at the next election.

They look so passives as it was a natural disaster and not the result of their own choice.

Most of the work force in honda was 50+ . Probably worked out perfect for them for early retirement.

They were told this would happen if they voted Brexit and it did....sit under an elephant's behind, expect to get shat on.

Swindon was one of the first areas in the country to declare a result, which saw 61, 745 (54.7%) vote to leave.

It’s not the strong that survive but the most adaptable. I wish a all the workers the best in finding new futures

So 3000 lose their jobs in the factory but how many more will lose their in companies that are dependent on the factory. For instance companies that delivers parts and transport the cars.
And those that depend on the workers money, like shops, cafes, pubs and so on.

Been in the same situation myself. You have to go out and find new work. There is no such thing as a job for life anymore.

Oh Dear; it seems as though someone is being a bit economical with the truth here?
Honda told their workers that they were closing the plant in 2019; three years ago? The (BBC) reporter was trying to make it look as though Honda announced the closure suddenly in July 2021?
Honda only build the Civic at this plant and they want to concentrate on building electric cars, hence the closure; although I don't know why they don't adapt the existing factory to build electric vehicles?
As far as I know; Nissan are expanding their existing U.K. factory to build electric cars, and they are concentrating on the 'Home' market(Japan), the U.K., and Australia?

What is the regional accent in Swindon? Swear in that video I heard Geordie, Mancunian and Somerset in there.

“We didn’t see it coming?” Really? You were warned but didn’t want to hear it. I really do feel badly for these people, but ignorance does have consequences.
