Congratulations for a concise explanation of how and why to use the high or less high resolution. Maybe you may consider also make a comparison in similar fashion of reproducing text documents... because in this sub-domain of use of an iphone for work in historical archives... When one reproduces (with the need sufficient light) a document with A3 or A2 or A1 size with lots of smaller typographic or handwritten elements.. having 48 megapixels does make sense...
For my archival work I use a Sony 61 Megapixel camera that even can do multiple scans (when the object and the camera setting are absolutely stable) arriving at a glorious 192 Megapixel image...
This set up is bulky and heavy... and for field work in archives and museums in far away places... this new iPhone 14 plus is seen as a possible option. Of course a stable mounting of the camera, sufficient stable and controlled light (in color temperature) are essential. I am not usre whether the camera gives one an option of setting a white balance and so on, maybe some of the newer apps would be able to do that.
Anyhow your first introduction convinced us, that we choose the iPhone 14 plus to see how it can face up to such tasks..

As always picture examples of landscapes, however beautiful, do not tell much about the capabilities of the digital optics...
Tour didactical approach in this video - once ore - has been very much appreciated.

Thanks for the video.

I’m considering getting the 15 pro max for a trip to some USA national parks. Yosemite, Zion and so on.

If I take landscape photos with the phone will the prints be good enough quality to hang on my wall or will they look poor?

I may have to buy a DSLR and some lenses if that’s the case.

Thanks.

When you drag or export a raw image from photos app on to desktop on mac it converts to jpeg. The size of the file is considerably reduced as it is a jpeg file. When u open these files in preview they all are jpeg. Are you comparing jpeg with jpeg with little difference in their file sizes.

When in Raw, Why does it default to 12mp if you select the 48MP option?..
