Phil Spencer Talks Quality Of GAMES | Xbox Is Open To New Studio Acquisitions

Phil Spencer talks more in dept of the quality of the games that will be on the Xbox Series X. He says that we are in for a surprise and he is excited for the future of Xbox. There is also a lot of talk on how Xbox wants to buy more studios just has to be on their terms and make sense to them.

Gonna need a dozen more studio's for game pass for the Netflix of gaming.

Yes a horror based studio and another big AAA type studio would be nice especially with the rumors of sony looking to expand their 1st party.

The funny part is that it took him 6+ years at the head of xbox to realize that the quality of the games matter on a gaming platform.

Yes I can dispute that because none of those games I like.

For "diversity" sake. And because they want to beef up the selection on Gamepass more. Yes, they do. But as stated. They have NO plans thus far to stop. Im hoping its announced in the July event. But that 15 is supposed to become *17.* As there was rumored to have been a Polish studio. And a Japanese one recently acquired. Granted I feel the Japanese one might have been far sooner than we think. Its just that its taken this long to say anything.

But I hope they dont stop there. Because if its the studio I am thinking of. They'll be covered for things like their own in-house JRPG's. But thats just 1 genre most Japanese gamers would be into. Im hoping they get at least 2 more onboard. Even if it means dragging back the likes of Itagaki of Ninja Gaiden/DOA fame. There needs to be *MORE* diversity.

And while on that subject. This possible WB Interactive buyout could happen. Theres a common misconception among folks that this would mean MS gets Batman and Harry Potter. Unfortunately, thats a totally separate deal. That would require even MORE months of negotiations. And lets be frank. WB/DC isnt Marvel. Unlike in Sony's case with Spiderman. MS wouldnt be able to tether Batman or HP and LoTR to XB. WB/DC would NEVER allow it. Mortal Kombat and FEAR are the only things MS would have full rights on from that buyout to decide what gets locked to the brand. Of course granted the type of guy Spencer is. I highly doubt the likes of MK would stop being multi-plat.

But where Im going with that is IF they were to get those studios. Thats just more highly gifted talent that could just work on ANYTHING they want. Because they will no longer be shackled to WB. Imagine Rocksteady doing a Spawn game. Or Montreal on their own open world RPG. They'll have those options. Which will bring even more choices to the XB platform.
