I use different amps including s Fender twin, MusicMan, Marshall, Mesa Boogie and acoustic AER amps. I use Jim Dunlop Nylon 1mm pick and the XL Jazz iii.

I totally agree with you, it took me almost a year to losing up, I struggled with bar chords, once I trained my hand to bar chords it opened up to play more songs, strumming came natural to me, now I’m into finger picking, once I learn nothing else matters, learn clocks from cold play and everybody hurts from REM came naturally, I’m 54 years old and I started at 52, I can play 16 songs from start to finish… consistency is the key, I play 1 hour minimum a day with songs that I already know.. age is only a number, if can do it everybody else can .. Growing up, my mother told me to forget about playing guitar because my fingers were too big. She was wrong but I think she saved my life because I would totally have gone all-in on it.

The biggest tip I can give to beginners or actually anyone is to put your guitar on a stand where you can pick it up everyday even for just 5-10 minutes between "practice days". Play a bit every day that you eat even is just for a few minutes. Your muscle memory won't forget.
