The curb weight for the current gen Camaro and Mustang convertible versions is almost exactly the same. The Camaro is 20 pounds more. The Camaro SS coupe is 60 pounds lighter than the Mustang GT coupe.

How can you not like the way the Camero top goes down..

Needed an everyday car...drove them both. Hated the Camaro, fell in love with the Mustang. Guess it just came down to necessity and purpose over actual sportiness of the car for us. Can't really go wrong with either car for ease on the eyes...they're both beautiful cars.

Diehard camaro guy here. This is the only gen camaro that looks better than the coupe. Visibility. Just means u gotta look with a little more effort. Awesome lines come at a price. My old z28. Still have. Same way. Just when u look just stick ur head back or whatever. No big deal. Surprisingly this new camaro feels so much similar to sit in to my old 1978 z28. Seats are much more comftorable than my old cars seats though. Lol

Have not driven the new 2018 Mustang but drove a Camaro SS vert just like this one for a week and actually really really loved it.  No issues for daily use believe it or not.

I have the 2017 1ss convertible. The only mod was to swap for Custom 'Superman Red' leather seats, $1200.00. I'm 6'3" tall at 240lbs. 74 years old. and handicap''ed. I am so much more comfortable getting in&out of the Camaro than the Mustang. I traded a 2011 sl550 Mercedes. The Camaro is faster and handles better than any sports car I've ever owned. What I paid in repair costs for the 4 years for the SL550 is what I paid for the 2017 Camaro in total. Convertibles I've owned. 1954 xk120 Jaguar roadster, 1963 VW convertible, 1969 Chrysler 'as big as a Whale' convertible 1969 Firebird 400 convertible, Buick Riviera convertible 'Pimp Mobile', BMW 328ic convertible.( gave it to my Daughter, and my Grandson ruined it). 1995 mercedes E320 convertible, still have it'. 1992 300zxtt, 2011 e550 convertible. I have not owned a ford since the 60's when I worked on the Mustang line at Ford Motor in Fremont ca. I'd say too
many guys on the assembly line were SHIT FACED most of the time, dangerous lack of quality control.

You get used to the sight lines in one day. Stick to your Prius Jake. If you need a special spot for your phone then you shouldn’t be driving a pony car. These cars are for enjoying life. It drives me nuts when people who would never own one of these cars or can’t afford one knit pick them to death. Hold out for a Camry convertible. Both of these are really fun cars.

I'd pick the Mustang because not only can I take it out on the the weekend, a buddy and our girlfriends can come along. That scenario is not possible in the Camaro.

I rented a Camero convertible. The visibility was horrible and the trunk small (as these guys noted). I bought a Mustang GT convertible and I love it! It is a very “useable”.

I think you have been misinformed about the curb weight of these cars.I know at least that the hardtop models of these cars that the camaro is lighter.

The guy in the mustang just has nothing to say. The 6.2 is actually more fuel efficient with the automatic and the engine has more torque. I don't know what can possibly feel more old fashioned about the Camaro. The screen being tilted has 0 impact on visibility and I've driven both the mustang and the camaro multiple times(I'm a valet).

Now for something many might not know. I've driven dozens of convertible Mustangs at work and one thing I noticed on 90% of them is that the rear quarter windows motors are weak and struggle to close the window all the way. This results in a gap often as big as a couple inches between the front and back side windows. I am not exaggerating when I say 90% of the mustangs I've seen have this issue and online people say it needs grease or to be forced to close all the way. The convertible top on the Mustang also has a manual latch while the Camaro is full automatic.

The 10 speed auto is a Ford and Chevy co-op design. Giving the mustang points because it came with a 10 speed auto is ridiculous. Both cars are offered with it !

First thing wrong with this test the Mustang is a 10 speed automatic and the Camaro is a 6-speed if you're going to do a car test test both vehicles with the same kind of transmission how can you compare you should know how Superior to 10 speed automatic is Chevy does offer it also

What I'm taking from this is that if you get the Camaro, it'd probably be best if you had a daily and used the Camaro sparingly, but if money is an issue and you can only afford one car, you'd more than likely to be better off with the 'Stang
