two screens don't make any sense. it would increase the cost, shorten the battery life, but also the complexity of everything else, the ability to play it with the dock for some games, devs would need extra steps to port games, etc.

an official accessory to play the Switch 2 sideways to play DS and 3DS? sure. two screens? no.

Just a minute — Isn’t the code name for Switch 2 supposed to be “Attach?” What if you were to “attach” a second screen? At least then the rumors would be consistent. If you can attach joy cons, then it’s technically feasible to attach a second display. You wouldn’t need it for every game, and you could “detach” the second display and use it handheld when the console is docked to your TV. Why isn’t anyone considering the possibility that the second screen could be used in attached mode and detached mode? Is that just too obv to everyone?

That was some pretty massive cope. It's still a rumor, but for some reason you're calling these sources crazy on the sole basis that a second screen is scary. It's worth pointing out the encouraging optimism we've heard from 3rd party developers. Developers were not excited about the Wii U. So it stands to reason that even if Switch 2 has dual screens, there is something significantly different this time around that we haven't considered. Let's be honest, Nintendo's best sytems have been innovative.

I think Nintendo would make the Switch cast wirelessly while in handheld mode. So, you'd have two screens.
But not literally two screens in the device NO ONE WOULD USE THEM!

it will be probably a open dock with the functionality of projecting something on the switch dock while the switch is connected to the tv. Totally optional, most of the time it could show what game is being played and devs could use it to show something like a map or something just if they want. Maybe even showing the hour like the game and watch while playing on tv

I don’t think it’ll have two screens. Most games won’t take advantage of the second screen and adding the second screen will just cut into their profits adding in unnecessary hardware. If they are adding in extra tech I’d rather they put in OLED rather than two cheaper screens.
