Fort Benning. How would Gen. Harold Moore feel about Fort Benning being renamed? I’d venture to guess he’d be alined with the majority of infantry that trained there and have come to recognize their training base as Fort Benning. How would America feel if we changed The 4th of July to “ American Day Off work ” ? That’s not what we are accustomed to and that’s not what we have celebrated memories with our families with. It’s combat ineffective for lack of better words.

This is ridiculous. You can't change history by changing the name of a U.S. Army Fort.

Nice, that's a real popular post to have your name on..troops from all over the world go there for training...
Also..it's not a "base", in the Army it's called a "post'... Air force has bases, Army has posts... You "post" a soldier in a fort.. you station an air squadron at a, 'base. '...
that's what I was taught
That why the store on an air force base is called the B.X. ( base exchange) and on an Army fort it's called a P.X. ( post exchange)...see, you just learneded sumthin knew..
I think Navy calls their places bases too... I don't know what they call their store... Maybe a commissary, since being on a boat is more like being imprisoned..hahahahaha... An marines are just lucky anytime they don't have to travel on foot...hahahahaha..

I don't agree with renaming military bases for that ridiculous reason. But I can't think of anyone better to name this base after.

So the pentagon destroys our history and covers it up in a schmaltzy story? This is bs.

So they become woke and gotta change names. Army sure has changed. Last time I was there they still went by the " don't ask, don't tell " policy now apparently you can have a trans sergeant.Things are certainly different now.

LTG Moore should have something named after him. But don't try and erase history because a few weak people got their undies in a bunch.
