Cane Corso protecting his owner

Just a good example of my Cane Corso guarding me. Typically I don't want my dog's cause a bunch of ruckus in the backyard, but unfortunately we have had some break ins in our neighborhood recently, so I actually want him to announce his presence.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this. Dogs are supposed to protect. Announcing their presence often wards off any other problems. For those that don't like it, get a cat and watch them defend you. Beautiful dogs serving their purpose.

It's strange, for some reason if you say to a Corso "who's that" or "who's there" in a low hush tone, it gets them going and they instinctively go into protection mode. I used to say it to my Corso all the time and he would instantly start growling and go investigate. Awww I miss my beloved Apollo :(

I adopted a female 4 months ago from a very abusive person. It took us about a month to gain a relationship. Now all she does is follows me around and protects me. When someone comes to the house I have to meet the person outside the front door and let her see that they're friendly just so she can let them in. After that then she wags her entire ass and she'll become a normal dog again. It's truly like having a body guard around you at all times. Other then her chewing all things plastic and slobbering I couldn't ask for a better guard dog.

Truly the best dog I ever owned. My best friend that would protect me with his life. In return he gets the very best diet, many toys, treats at drive through windows, outdoor activities and is my constant companion. He also guards my horses. This breed is everything a protection dog should be.

This is the video that helped me decide on the Cane Corso. 💕 I now have two male Corso's and absolutely love them. They are almost a year old now. My brindle Nero barks just like Prescher. His voice demands attention.
