Fun fact: bees don't have one sting. Our skin is actually too thick and strong for their barbed stingers, which are good at destroying beetles, bugs, slugs, etc, but get stuck in our skin. When the bee tries to remove it, the venom sack (connected to organs) is also pulled out.

What’s really funny is that most farm bees actually overproduce on purpose because they know the humans will take some and give them shelter in return they ligit pay rent and it’s on purpose.

Funnily enough, in greek mythology Zeus actually decided bees would die after one sting to piss off a bee-like fairy who made honey and requested a way to protect her honey stash 🙃

Reason: bee stingers are barbed, making it much harder to take out. With enough time, they can get their stinger out if they feel like it. However it takes like 5 whole minutes and is just inconvenient. So they yank away their stinger, and part of their insides. Wasps have smooth stingers allowing for reusable pain.

Not all bees stings but are strangely attracted to pickle juice found that out the hard way was a very interesting experience I just ate a pickle then went outside without washing my hands so was still coved in pickle brine a bee kept circling me so I stood still then bee landed on my hands then kept moving around on my fingers felt a strange feeling I went to look found our the bee was sniffing around my fingers and my best guess is licking up the pickle bring that was on my fingers then it few away then not sure if this was the same one it came back and did the same exact thing as before

Actually bees leave a very cool mechanism inside their stinger that allows it to literally pump venom directly into the aggressors bloodstream. It's actually hilarious that the evolution made one of the most complex attacking methods in the insect world 100% lethal for the bearer

Bees only have one sting bc their stingers are meant for insects, which have exoskeletons, and they dont die, when they sting things with skin, the stinger gets stuck and they rip them off, they actualy can take them out, it takes a bit though, and doesnt hurt as much for the stung animal

For anyone wondering, bees (including honeybees) can sting multiple times in their life. The barber nature allows for them to sting insects with thin skin several times but for mammals, our skin is too thick and the stinger gets stuck and when bees try to push out too hard (get your mind out of the gutter) they rip their stinger out and are destined to die as in the process of doing so they also ripped out important vital organs.
