Look, I'm Indian and I understand everyone's pain. But honestly, this recipe isn't for Indians! That's the whole point, to introduce a EASIER dish that you can make for dinner. There is no need to get so mad, if YOU find this gross, DON'T MAKE IT.

We made this recipe a few weeks ago. Didn't taste quite like our favorite Indian restaurant until we added a few cardamom seeds. My hubby loved it and it tasted even more authentic the next day as leftovers. We'll be making it again this weekend with the addition yogurt as part of the marinade. Will marinade chicken for several hours.

The cinnamon isn't really necessary as the Garam masala already has cinnamon in it.

Tasty is for people getting into cooking, makes it look easy and fun for new chefs. These videos honestly helped me become the cook I am today.

Tip: If you have the time and patience... DO NOT FRY THE CHICKEN!! Let it sit and marinate whilst you make the sauce. Reduce it to a simmer, and add the chicken in raw. Then let it simmer for an hour or so until it's fully cooked. Trust me, the chicken will be so much more succulent that way and takes in all the flavour. Shallow frying beforehand does not take in the flavour of the butter sauce!

This is my go to recipe, but 2 tips that I found make it even better, you HAVE to let it sit over night, and add a tablespoon or two of greek yogurt to the chicken while it marinates, along with a pinch of sugar. Also I purée the onion, ginger, and garlic into a paste. For me, it tastes like butter chicken I’ve had at restaurants in my area.

This was so comforting. Really made me feel at home whilst abroad. I stirred in some coriander and parsley at the end, which really kicks up the flavour a notch

I'm South Asian and I make this dish all the time. Marinate the chicken with lemon and yogurt (taste to see if it's tangy enough for you, the tomatoes will make it a little tangier later), and all those spices together for at least an hour. Use fresh tomatoes pureed instead of tomato sauce (add in more water if you want it saucier). Let the chicken cook more than halfway before adding the heavy cream. I would recommend using half of the heavy cream needed and use regular milk to make up the other half of the amount. Add melted butter (that was melted on a frying pan) at the very end when you're done!

Nonononononnono. Going through the steps to make the more authentic version of this recipe is so worth it! You marinade chicken thighs, not breasts, in a spiced yogurt mix, and broil them! The chicken will be SO tender, and it'll taste like spiced deliciousness, not just meat-flavored. As for the sauce, you start by actually cooking the spices, to bring out all those flavors and aromas before adding onion, tomato paste/puree, and cream/butter. By no means should you be adding water to your sauce! It should be rich and creamy, not runny!

did it today. I'm not Indian and can't say if the procedure is not clear, but this is the best chicken I've tasted

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am a vegetarian who lives in a family of non-vegetarians. I want to make chicken and fish for my family, but hate the feel of chicken in my hands. I never buy them with bones and can't stand it for too long. But i know it is a great source of protein. I try not to let my mental block get in the way of my family's healthy eating. Hence easy quick dishes like these make it so much easier for people like me. Please disregard all the negative comments from people and believe me, there is a big community of us who love such recipes. So please keep them coming:)
