Video summary:

Kaizen is the question “What extremely small step can I take to improve the process or product?”
These tiny steps will accrue over time to significant progress.

When you take tiny but regular steps towards a goal, you tip-toe past your brain's fear response which removes the urge to distract ourselves and allows us to take action without the fear of failure.

Start by asking small questions and focus on small rewards. Break your big goal down in to tiny focused goals. Focus on just the very next, small, step, and when you achieve it, give yourself a pat on the back.

"Resistance Strategy Part 1: Find the smallest unit - and do it" - Barbara Sher.
"Maybe you can't always do what you should, but you must do what you can. And that's what I call the smallest unit. It's a unit of activity so modest that it doesn't threaten resistance" - Barbara Sher.

Wow, this is such a powerful concept! I've recently discovered (coincidence?) that if I commit to doing something for just 1 minute (meditation, yoga, work, chores, etc.), then it's easy to get moving and gain momentum...

This book quite resembles to 'ONE THING' by Gary Keller and 'THE SLIGHT EDGE' by Jeff Olson.

Basically their book focuses on one simple but effective philosophy and that is "TAKE ONE SMALL STEP AT A TIME BUT REGULARLY."

Anyway, your summary of new books and your narrative voice is just Golden. :-)

This sounds like the teaching of Prophet Muhammad: “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.”. What you did in this video is explain why that teaching of Prophet Muhammad is an effective strategy. Fantastic video, thank you!

Loved your one page summary.
Big thank you for the effort in creating a one summary page. I used to get stressed after seeing a motivation video that how do I remember what I learned. Now that you are attaching a PDF, that stress is gone and no more amygdala :-)

cheers

The concept of your channel is very good, by summarizing the concepts of a book in less than 10 minutes, with your recommendations, I have already purchased three books which are so good to read and implement.

Thanks so much for capturing such INCREDIBLE and life changing lessons and transforming them into easy (and FUN) to understand summaries. My ADHD is debilitating when it comes to reading and some basic tasks. Your videos have made it simple and rewarding to expand my mind, and improve my life. Thank you. 🙏👏👍😁

When I was a kid I was really skinny/fat and looked like crap, as I always played videogames & never liked any sort of sport, so I bought a pair of adjustable dumbbells and started to do overhead presses & curls during loading screens in the videogames that I used to play, always telling myself that I'll look good someday. Now I have a full gym at home & have a way better physique with waay wider shoulders, arms, etc. Kaizen works

Just ordered the book. Im so GLAD you plugged Dr, Deming. He IS the founder off all things "Lean", "Quality". I love the idea of 'Kaizen Psychology'. And, the bog, bold steps thing is VERY stressful!

Wonderfully explained. Though kaizen is known in factory circles, using it in daily life challenges is quite refreshing
