Thank you for the reminder to not limit Orthodoxy to the East. God clearly works and has worked across the boundaries of East and West. I have needed to repent of my fundamentalist mentality when it comes to equating Orthodoxy with Byzantium in an exclusive, close-minded sense. Lord have mercy.

10th century liturgy?
Saint John Chrysostom was a Saint of 4th century. Saint Basil the Great also. We have St Basil's Liturgy in Church for 10 Sundays per year. St Jacob's Liturgy (1 time per year) was even older as he was apostle of Christ.

Let’s also talk about the way the priest is standing in front of God. In orthodox liturgy the priest represents the people, that is why he has his back to people and faces God. He asks God for peace. In the catholic liturgy the priest stands as if he is God himself and can grant, he faces people. This is somehow a blasphemy.

The father speaking is incorrect in a number of ways in what he says. For example, the first evidence of an iconostasis dates to the early 5th century. If people are not careful, this emphasis on trying to resurrect or reform ancient Western liturgies may lead to a form of triumphalism if not outright schism. It is not helpful to the discussion to misrepresent Eastern liturgies in an effort to justify the use of Western liturgies in Orthodoxy.

there is no difference between the Creed and the iconostasis! both arose for the same reasons. not having an iconostasis is like not confessing your creed in church on Sunday!

It seems that this priest contradicts Michael Lofton. Didn't Pope Francis basically ask people to give up this modernist liturgy called TLM to something that was more in the spirit of the Apostles? I remember how Michael Lofton mentioned this as an argument against TLM supporters.
