NASA SDO - M5.3-class Solar Flare, September 6, 2011

In the early hours of September 6, 2011 (peaking at 01:50 UT) the active region 1283 produced a M5.3 class solar flare. This was the fourth M-class flare in the past 48 hours.

Active region 1283 is located almost dead center so the eruption was Earth-directed. Additional information will be available soon. It appears that the Coronal Mass Ejection is traveling slow.
