Wow, can't imagine how Juan feels about everything right now. It really seems like these things always pile up on the people who deserve it the least.

Oh, man, this is such sad news. Juan - incredible tennis pro and athlete. It enrages me that his father screwed him out of 90% of his career earnings. WTH kind of father is that? And, now Juan cannot recoup that kind of money after announcing his retirement, unless he does so via another career. He is an intelligent, talented man with many fine qualities, so he will be successful no matter what he does, I'm sure.

I remember Del Po defeated Roddick and Safin in their last ATP matches. He saw formal number 1s retired twice. Really love the guy. Hope the way he retires will be memorable.

A very big loss to the M Tour the last few years, for sure. Always looked forward to looking for DelPo in the draws & following his progress in many tournaments. Gotta be super frustrating to have serious injuries (like the wrist & knee he's unfortunately experienced) that completely dismantle your remaining career when you're playing at the highest level. Would be very difficult to somehow process in your mind. What a huge comeback over Fed to get the 2009 U.S. Open championship as the Thor forehand was certainly on in that match (along with many others). One of the best forehand's the game has seen imo. Seems like a genuinely nice guy & wish him all the best in the future.

This is just sad. Yesterday was wondering about delpo after seeing some highlights of him and an hour later I learned about his retirement. Seeing his emotional retirement speech. And what his father did is just outrageous. The guy trains his entire life for his father to spend it. I wish him the best and who knows in what kind of way he will stay in the tennis world. A comeback in tennis is from what I've seen out of the question. Maybe coaching.

That’s very sad on both fronts. I hope he can remain a part of the game as a television analyst or coach. There’s still a lot he can give to the sport.

That is really sad, that "The Comebacker of the century" this time does not come back, had so much hope, that after his famous last comeback and the US-Open-Final-Loss against Nole, he finds again a way, but now it seems to be Game Over. I will miss one or the best dominating forhand of all times... And super-sad, that his stupid father brought all his money through ....

I'm sad to hear Del Potro's retirement. Great champion and a class act. Wish he had contacted KOBE BRYANT'S KNEE DOCTOR explore that avenue, too. Who knows maybe he takes some time off and comes back ? Give his knee time to heal as well as his mind and spirit. Look at how long Roger has playing into his LATE 30s. It can be done! Hopefully, maybe he comes back plays to recoup some of his money. God Bless, Del Potro! (*Wish he switched to a softer racquet back then to ease pressure on his wrists no more Wilson goto Prince and to stop playing on grass...)

He was one of my all-time favorites on the ATP tour. Such a shame his own father was such a d*** and forcing his son to keep working after all the surgeries and sacrifices to keep playing.
