In this video, I will look at two case studies in faith. The first is from Fear and Trembling where K analyses Abraham’s sacrifice and presents the ‘double movement’; infinite resignation, then faith. The second is from Stages on Life’s Way and concerns marriage. In this, Judge William talks about raising the erotic (aesthetic) to faith (religious) through marriage. The absurdity that characterises religiousness B is emphasised in both examples.
