improve rough idle or lean or Rich conditions on your car.

Symptoms:
when your Mass air flow sensor is dirty the oil consumption increases. It effect the calculation of air flow going to the computer. you wont feel a big difference in vehicle performance but the fuel consumption will increase. Like wise if your air flow snesor is bad then your car may vibrate and you may get a check engine light on. when its dirty it works so you dont get the check engine light as the computer is getting some data but that data is garbage due to the dirt on the Mass airflow sensor.

I highly recommend cleaning throttle body also. see video below

Thanks for posting. As you state in your comments below, it wasn't necessary in my case (2014 F-150 5.0) to remove anything other than the actual Mass Airflow Sensor. Your commentary and the way you show removing the MAS is spot on. Thanks for posting.

Out of curiosity would a truck throw random codes related to the fuel air system if the mass airflow sensor is dirty?

Fingers crossed, at least for present time it worked!!

I have bought a new starter a new fuel pump system and spark plugs to try to fix this issue with no luck. Hopefully this did it.

So you just clean that larger opening from what I saw. Good tip. Also let it sit out for 30 minutes before reinstalling from another video I saw.

so my 2012 3.5 eco boost will not rev past 3500 rpm even if i floor the gas, will this help or fix this?

I have a 2014 f150 5.0, i was told to check air filter because i am idling a little bit rough at stops. What exactly does mass air flow sensor do? Does it send signals to the timing of the firing?

Video is pretty good but there’s no need to use a screwdriver to pry the connector free. There’s a clip below the connector just push on it and the connector will slide out… if not you will break the connector clip

My mass air flow sensor was silver side down. You put yours in silver side up.

In that same video location on my 2012 F150 3.5L V6, I have a different part - the Turbocharger Boost Sensor. Not sure where I would locate the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Any help?

No one ever talks of how the vehicle is acting and why you need to clean their flow sensor sounds like you guys are selling product. Tell the public what the truck was doing before. You even start taking out the sensor what was the symptoms?

You removed way too many parts than necessary. Next time I get parts I'll just call them "this thing" as you did. I'd hate to have you working on my truck.
