Unfortunately, biblical scholars and theologians have an antagonistic relationship, and it should not be that way. Theologians need the data that biblical scholars can glean from the text. Check this out!

I so miss Dr. Heiser. His contributions to the body of believers scriptural understanding cannot be measured or understood on this side of heaven. The Lord used his servant mightighly during his tenure on this earth and continues to do so with all the material available in the Naked Bible podcast, blog and this channel. He is an eminent scholar, theologian and maybe the greatest example I can think of for the phrase “In essentials unity, in non essentials liberty, in all things love.”

Agreed, by working together the word of God can be understood deeper and spread further.

There’s a similar dynamic in the corporate world between “The Business” and “IT”. When they work in complementary ways it’s very effective

I wish i could hear you talk about isaiah 34:14. What is this screech owl or lilith? A demon or what exactly. Maybe you have talked about this before. Does anyone know if there is a video of him on this subject?

How does Church tradition fit into this discussion?

This is a very good treatment, yet a bit too much of a false dichotomy. However, it seems that this is Heiser's point.

What is the difference between a "bible scholar" and a "theologian" if both convey information correctly, they are merely messengers. Anything more than relying what the Bible says, is false teaching.

I see that Heiser has the series "OT in Revelation", and that is on my list to view (5-7 hours per section), but
Did Heiser ever explain why it appears (Ch 22) that Jesus denies John's worship and says, "Worship God, " and turns around and priclaims himself Alpha and Omega just verses later?
Did he ever explain why the elders sang to the Lamb but fell and worshipped "him who sits on the throne (the Lamb is standing" and "him who lives forever and ever" (Ch 5)?
And please, all you self-styled experts, spare me your explanations. My question was clear: Did Heiser ever explain... yes, or, no?

Go to Holy Spirit, and He will lead you into ALL TRUTH. Not the man-made doctrines and traditions of religion. Seek God, and you will find.
