I was going to give this one a miss until I found out that Bo was excited about it.

When Bo starts his "I'm so excited.. " speech it's always coffee break for Brian

Listening to the excitement that Brian has for the book was just pure joy. You could feel he enjoyed it. 👍

“Agree, disagree, wanna fight?”…For once.. just for once… I’d like to see a full on brawl break out after Bo asks this question

The problem I have is that, inevitably, whenever I spend money selfishly, life turns on me and I have an unavoidable, unexpected expense. Vacation? Home AC fails. A new hobby toy? Car repair.

Easy bake oven won me over. I really like sitting in the air conditioning and adjusting the temp of the smoker when it’s feels like 105 outside. Not sure I will ever go back to a traditional smoker.

I'm glad I stayed till the end because the 457 Roth question was really interesting to me.

I totally love the show and kind of can't believe that I watch an hour or two every week.

Ok I have a question that I’ve always wanted to ask. Why aren’t the mics muted during the “starting soon” screen at the beginning? It’s weird hearing them breathe and move glasses, and it feels like any second we might hear some comments that we’re not supposed to.

My husband didn’t particularly like his job mostly because of the staff he had to work with. So when it came to a head, I said no problem. Let’s find you a different job in the same field. Well, we did all the research and when it came down to it, he made the decision to be just fine with his job because it turned out he had the optimum pay for the optimum work life balance with the optimum benefits when all was taken into consideration so he just talked to HR and got moved to a different department😂

I think the guys are missing key information about a 457(b)'s for that last question. A big gotcha on Roth 457(b) plans is that distributions from a Roth 457(b) before age 59.5 are *not* qualified, and therefore gains are taxable. Traditional 457(b)'s do not have this issue. So you probably want to contribute to a Traditional 457(b) if you're planning on using it for early retirement not a Roth.

Great episode. I’m currently considering a career switch for a better potential in earnings and this episode was the advice I needed. Love this show!

I realize it's not as tax efficient but I don't know why people don't get REITs if they want their toes in the real estate market

As my babies become toddlers and big kids, I will need more cash flow for activities. Should I reduce my investing from 25% so that I can pay off debt by the time I'll need the extra cash?

I love to save and invest but I like to spend also. That being said I feel bad at times when I spend money

Life gets better once you accept that money does indeed buy happiness. Lack of money is what causes misery. This is the way.

Regarding the HSA question, we wish we would have saved more there. We retired at 54, so there are plenty of healthcare expenses for us 😊.
