Sifu Cliff Ip demonstrating Fujian White Crane's Sap Yee Jeet Lik Set

As I have recently received certain questions from viewers regarding my earlier posted You Tube video above on the performance of the Sap Yee Jeet Lik form by Hong Kong's Sifu Cliff Ip in Taiwan, I would like to clarify as follows :

• the term "Bak Hok" in Cantonese means "White Crane" - a style from the Fujian province in China
• the form Sap Yee Jeet Lik is from the Fujian White Crane style -- and is not from the Wing Chun style
• Fujian White Crane is according to Sifu Sergio's research one of the ancestors and predecessors of modern Canton (Fut San / Hong Kong) Wing Chun

as the style originated in the Fujian village called Wing Chun (Eng Chun in Fukinese, Yong Chun in Mandarin and Wing Chun in Cantonese) Sometimes confusion arises, hope this helps clear it up.

Fantastic. Beautiful video. After living and training in China for over 2 years I can finally appreciate the talent, dedication and technique I see in this video. An excellent example of martial arts as a true art form.

Fluidity and energy unmatched - you can see the similarities in the three Yip Man Wing Chun forms - truly excellent

Awesome! This is one of the best Wing Chun videos I've seen yet. Thanks Sifu for sharing it with us.

Sifu Cliff Ip's form is excellent. He shows great position and has obviously trained for a long time. One can easily see the relationship to Yip Man Wing Chun. Thanks for posting this!

Search for Goju-ryu's Tensho kata, .... very VERY similar, ... Miyagi Sensei trained in the same area, .. and it is a known fact he trained in White Crane kungfu while there, ...Sifu Sergio is doing a REALY GREAT JOB

Very well done, Great form, great performer. Looks like Shito-ryu Karate's Tensho form, but I am sure this form is much older and much more advanced. Thank you for posting.

That form reminds me of Tensho kata/form from Goju-ryu.

Ok, point taken and totally accepted. Please note that Sifu Cliff Ip (from Hong Kong) is, in fact, a Fukien White Crane and Yuen Kay San Wing Chun practitioner - and, in fact, has absolutely no connection with, or knowledge about, the HKB WC style (from Indonesia). He and his partner, Sifu Sunny So (both being Sifu Sergio’s Hong Kong sifus), are only responsible for the promotion of pure Hong Kong Wing/Weng Chun and Fukien White Crane within the IWKA - which is totally independent of HKB WC.
