I collect George Harrison's interviews. I transcribed many of his ones (for example this one). Anyone who also collects George's interviews and who's also interested in? ANYONE!?!?

I love all of this... the David Bromberg part especially fascinated me because I've liked him since the 80s and i saw him in a tiny bar in Montana in 1986...I love the song he and George did together called The Hold Up -- I so wish we had audio of their performance from this show! It was also so fascinating to hear George talk about what intrigued him about the sitar in the beginning... the bendiness etc... and then to hear him play it for the first time in years. I also loved the way he said "Thank you David" at the end. Very heartfelt. Love this whole interview.

THE FIRST 3 MINUTES 22 SECONDS

David: George, I think it’d be fair to say that you’re among friends. [laughter]
George: Thank you. Nice tonight.
David: Great to see you again. It really is delightful to have you with us. I was reading through lots of papers today — checking the…
George: I’ve heard you checking me out the other night. [to the audience] He’s in the same hotel as me. See, he was playing my records, I’ve walked past his room.
[laughter]
David: Did you…
George: Oh, yeah, it gets all over the hotel. I was so sorry for this checking me the...
David: I was playing… Absolutely true! Last Saturday night I was…
George: ‘You don’t need no poom-poom…’
David: …very loud, resounding through the… If you could hear walking along the lobby of the hotel, I wonder what the people in the next room thought? [laughter] Are they fans? They must be fans. That’s absolu… sure… Listen, that album — I just ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?. Since I was playing that album — that album is so marvelous. And I was reading the lyrics again and again, and so I listen…
George: So, you can read as well! [laughter]
David: Oh, that… oh, wow… ?-?-?-?
George: ?-?-?.
David: I haven’t realized because I’ve heard lots… I’ve heard the album before, but I haven’t listened to all of it again — how much of that… how much about religion and so on there is in the album. Or how much about Lord, how much about Christ and so on. There’s more than I realized in that about.
George: Well, I have a little fate.
[laughter]
David: Yeah, that’s great. Have you always had a little fate?
George: Not always, no. In fact, I’ve had moments of being very down. But, you know, it all works out.
David: ?-?-?-? if you believe?
George: Oh, you know, it’s just something that happens or doesn’t happen — you know, you either believe in something or you don’t. If you don’t, it’s really hard because it’s hard even when you do believe, you know, in something.
David: Did you believe before you met the Maharishi, in fact?
George: Ha-ha.
David: ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?
George: ?-?-?-?-? [sings] ‘I believe…’
Both: [sing] ‘…for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows…’
[laughter]
David: It’s first time you’ve ever sung that on television, that song?
George: ?-?-?-?-?-?-?-?
David: But did you before? It was the Maharishi…
George: Oh, I had a feeling that something was going on — before Maharishi, yeah. I knew that something is happening, but you don’t know what it is. Do you, Mr. Frost? [laughter] ?-?-? that. So I thought I’d better check it out. And part of going to India for me, you know, — I went first of all for the music, you know, with Ravi Shankar to learn sitar. And when I was there, I thought I’d better check out all these yogis. I had… You know, I liked the idea of yogis and Himalayas. So I checked around a bit. And then, the next time we went back, we went to Rishikesh, which is, like, about 98 percent of the people in Rishikesh are monks or holy men or recluse ?-?-?-?. And, you know, it’s just something that’s like you have to manifest inside yourself. Everybody is potential… This is like the last program we did. We did a program in England talking about this.

Wondering if this is the Frost show taped at The Little Theater in NYC right after Harrison was interviewed by Dick Cavett, clips of which are on You Tube now. I was able to attend the Frost taping and would greatly appreciate any info confirming. ALSO would like to see the program or at least clips posted on You Tube too!

Bailed on this interview. Frost sounds drunk and George wasn't comfortable being interviewed on his own yet. By the mid 70's he was much better at being interviewed.
