Text messages also. In the pass, I've received text messages about job offers, remote positions, etc. 9 out of ten those jobs are fake and scams.

Loved the video! Thank you for putting this up there, especially at this time in the world. I didn't think about the company giving you a check to buy a computer, hardware etc. I am glad to cement that point in my brain. And no job interviews that's a little creepy- I would expect at least one interview.

Ones that I keep getting that I feel are fake are the recruiters that sound outsourced from maybe India. I get these types of calls consistently, a lot more than any other call, and they hound me. They ask for the last four digits of SSN over the first phone conversation and immediately pivot to me giving them my real email to confirm a right to represent. After deciding these types of calls are too sketchy for me I try to decline or even ignore them and they just call me non-stop practically begging me to continue. This last part is the strangest because job opportunities never plead and pester to this degree for you to continue the hiring process.

Wow Kevin! theses scammers won’t stop at nothing I’m mean if they could scam their own mother they would.I sometimes get job offers threw texting but I immediately know is a scam.thanks for the heads up.good to know their doing this in the IT job offers too.

Another one is they do the interview via WhatsApp. I got a check for equipment called the bank that was on the check they told me check was not legit

Same happened to me, I had alarm bells off the bat but took it too far out of desperation. Lame. Got a letter from "HR" with grammatical errors, fake sounding name at the end. googled the name, they didn't come up, finally entered my head that it was a real scam
