When St. Paisios of the Holy Mountain lived in the Stomion Monastery, he had a sudden vision: the roof opened and he saw a pillar of light reaching into the sky. At the top of it, he saw a young man who looked similar to common depictions of Jesus Christ.

He heard a voice within him say:

"You are being greatly honored to see Christ!".

St. Paisios replied:

"But who am I? I am unworthy to see Christ"

The vision quickly disappeared.
