St. Paisios teaches:

-Geronda, tell us something about the Antichrist.
-Let us for once say something about Christ... We must be as close to Christ as we can. Will we be afraid of the Antichrist if we are united with Christ? Isn't the antichrist spirit present today? One way or another, evil is done by the antichrist spirit. And even if an antichrist monster is created to do some horrible things, in the end he will be ridiculed. But many events will take place. Ecumenism, the European Union, one huge nation, one religion made to fit — these are the schemes of the devil. The Zionists are preparing someone to be the Messiah. For them the Messiah is a king who will reign here on earth. The Jehovah's Witnesses are also looking toward an earthly king. The Zionists will present someone and the Jehovah's Witnesses will accept him. They will say, "He is the one." There will be great confusion. In that confusion, everyone will be looking for a Messiah to save them. And then they will present some who will say, "I am the Imam, I am the fifth Buddha, I am the Christ expected by the Christians, I am the one expected by the Jehovah's Witnesses, I am the Messiah of the Jews." He will have five "selves"…

Rather, the anticipated Antichrist will, in some manner, be the incarnate devil, who will present himself to the Jewish nation as the Messiah and will mislead the world. Difficult years are ahead; we will be tested very severely. The Christians will suffer great persecution. And, you see, people are not at all aware that we are living during the signs of the times, that the sealing is already advancing.

Thank you for uploading this, it is difficult to wrestle with all that is happening in the world and this give me peace that I may be correct or justified of what I think or believe. Sometimes I wish I would have never known what I know, for blissful-ignorance's sake. Because now, I cannot deny what I have seen and heard or read.

Although, I think the one with courage, who wrestle with this world's wrongness, wishing to correct it, is not wrong or sinful. Sometimes I get the idea of the contrary, that passivity is the true way to eternal life, that one should not bother with mere wordly affairs. That one, even though in the world, should not be of this world and care.

Maybe there is a balance, that there may be peace in my soul. Since I come to orthodoxy with this great bagage of sins, opinions, worldviews and beliefs that may not align with the church, which I cannot so simply fully deny.

Lord have mercy on us caught in this world and its infinite particularities and distractions. Let us remind that you are the true purpose and object of our life and the life itself.

Excellent study. Keep in mind, that God will send His two witnesses to testify repentance to the world, and that the God of Israel is the one true God: Jesus Christ. The word "anti" in antichrist does not mean someone who is going to be openly anti (against) Christ. That word "anti" in the original Bible language can actually mean "IN PLACE OF". So could the bible antichrist be someone who has actually put himself "in place of" Christ? Well, we have further Bible evidence to support this. In 1 John 2:18-19 it says that there were "many antichrists", who "WENT OUT FROM THE CHURCH". In other words, John is pointing to the fact that those "antichrists" were WITHIN THE CHURCH!! Not only that, but Paul in 2 Thess. 2:3-4 calls the man of sin the "son of perdition". Now there is only one other place in the Bible where the name "son of perdition" is used, and that is in John 17:12 talking about JUDAS! And what was Judas? A professing follower of Christ Jesus. Someone who deceived from WITHIN the "church".
