No mention of Stars in Shadow unless I missed it. I've seen Difizzle use it some and it's what I think of for the most competitive energy Pulse. It benefits from free radiant this season and can get a similar stat package to NTTE with Surplus. Kill Clip and headseeker can be great 4th column perks or you can go for consistency with Eye of the Storm or Elem Capacitor.

I have a problem with locking loadouts, it would force me to always be using conditional and igneous as nothing else covers such a wide array of scenarios so well. If they locked loudouts mid round in trials i wouldnt be opposed to it I guess but between rounds we should get to change it

The craftable rapid fire from this season is really solid as a horror's least alternative. I made mine with enhanced keep away & enhanced head seeker, it slaps

In terms of flinch mitigation you can use stars in shadow which has firmly planted and you can pair that with headseeker and then crouch into your bursts and it performs pretty well

You should try out Last Perdition with rampage if you're able. Like you said, adaptives don't have the best ttk, but they're _extremely_ forgiving, and LP rolls some very clean Suros scopes (I prefer the SPO-28). All you have to do is outjuke or teamshot the first guy to then roll his teammates with a 0.6s ttk. Maybe I'm biased due to Hawksaw nostalgia, but I was putting up numbers with it in both sixes and trials this week.

I like Premonition with Zen Moment & Snapshot to counter the bad handling. Always liked Third Axiom too, I got Surplus Headseeker, but you can get Zen in the first column.

It’s been my go-to PvP weapon since Arrivals, it just feels so damn good with the zoom and it’s easy to adjust your aim mid burst thanks to the rate of fire. I just wish I’d gotten a good headseeker roll back when they were farmable.

This seasons Rapid Fire has been feeling really nice on my Bakris Build. Smallbore/Hammer-Forged, Accurized Rounds, Keep Away & Headseeker with a Range MW & a Counterbalance Mod. It has decent Range with the MW, Barrel & Accurized Rounds, Keep Away gives you bonus Range & Accuracy in the Ranges you want to be in & then add in Headseeker & Light Shift Bonuses!? It takes people by surprise.

As you suggest, that nicely rolled Horror's Least Adept feels good and competitive. Eats up duels for breakfast, especially once the damage perk gets rolling.

So glad someone finally admits how brain-dead easy handcannons really are to use with the absurd amounts of aim assist, projectile size, and bullet magnetism it has. It genuinely feels like I’m shooting bowling balls at my opponents, with 120’s and exotic handcannons like thorn and ace of spades being the most egregious cases.

I like Adaptives. I always go back to Third Axiom when I want an energy pulse on void. With Elemental Capacitor it has almost max stability and feels great.

I think bungie is actually going into the opposite direction of locked loadouts. They mentioned somewhere in a TWAB that they are working on removing the penalty to super energy and ability energy when swapping, and this is probably because they now have different costs in the system for the kickstart mods, and they have different impacts depending on the cooldown now I think, so now they’re able to do similar things like having you keep super energy when swapping subclasses or supers, but it goes down when swapping to a longer cooldown super and up more when swapping to a lower cooldown super. Or something along those lines. The only thing left is basically not losing special ammo when swapping(I found it dumb that if you’re a second too slow to swap, you lose your special for the round, which could easily lose it for you) and not being able to swap characters. But they do prevent you from swapping exotics still

It’s always interesting to see how different the PC and console metas are. Guns like Phylotactic Spiral are incredible on console with the go-to combo of Keep Away and Headseeker, but it’s super rough in the PC environment.

ah, cold denial, my baby! always knew there was something special about that gun. yeah, the weirdly short zoom and zen moment together make for a really unique shooting experience, it's been a personal favorite for a while
