I honestly wanna see somebody beat the remastered version with multiple players (2-4). It's hard with one person, but after playing with a cousin of mine, we couldn't get past the second boss at all (which while hard, I was able to pull off alone). In ways this game is like battletoads. It's harder the more players there are.
