As soon as I saw that, I immediately thought “I hope Will Smith doesn’t slap you for this” 😂

Alopecia usually occurs in circular patches and isn’t just localized to one small area and I’ve NEVER seen a linear pattern. I had androgenic alopecia from having high T, and my sister had alopecia areata from high stress. Neither of ours looked like Jadas supposed alopecia.

That line usually happens from wigs and weaves stressing the hair follicles and that line is exactly where the edge of the wig gets secured. If you get the same style for months at a time, it’s stresses and breaks off the hair and damages the scalp causing balding.

As a barber and from seeing scalps for 49 years: I have NEVER seen "alopecia" in a straight line! 😂😂😂😂

She's kept her hair short for decades and she's always looked good. If that line is alopecia, it's definitely not affecting her looks. I know hair loss freaks women out, but if you look good, you look good. There's no reason to get upset about a joke and let your husband commit a felony on live television when you're gorgeous, especially a joke that compares you to someone equally gorgeous.

Alopecia causes hair loss not scars. She could have had a brow lift and still have Alopecia, they're not exclusive of each other

Nurse here….Not alopecia- her scalp has no bald spaces. There is even hair stubble, alopecia there are NO hair follicles visible.

This looks like "wig line" traction alopecia. I've personally known stage actors that developed this as a result of sensitivity to glue.

She has another linear strip on the side of her head that would be correct placement for hair pieces and, given that she is/was a musical performer, would make sense.

TLDR she's full of it.

I knew as soon as I saw it, that it was from a brow lift. I’m a hairdresser and I’m very familiar with the scars due to plastic surgery. Another explanation is her hair loss has been caused from traction to the roots of the hair due to braiding. This constant pulling will actually stress the roots so much, they die. Braiding can also be used to provide a base that wefts and hair pieces can be hand sewn to. This allows a wig, hair piece or fall to be securely attached to the head to allow for swimming, showering and exercise. All this stress over time to our hair can cause permanent hair loss.

As someone with Alopecia Areata and shaved my head twice …it’s grows back but it’s always been circular hair loss. Caused by my immune system attacking my hair follicles when I stress. She puts herself in stressful situations 🤔

I have androgenic alopecia, which is another name for hereditary hair thinning. Jada does not look like she has hair loss anywhere. I have visibly noticed thinning in my crown area. I just wish she would not falsify stuff like this. The stubble on her head shows that her hair is growing in just fine. Choosing to shave one’s head does not make one have alopecia.

yes, i am a qualified hairdersser in U. K. and always thought the straightness of the bald patch was strange having dealt with many clients suffering alopecia, the areas have ALWAYS been circular though not always a uniform circle. 🤷🏿‍♀️

I wondered this as I suffered from Alopecia on the sides due to autoimmune illness (I have Lupus SLE) AND when I was younger I pulled my hair too tight on the sides into barrettes on top. It caused weakening of the hair and shaft and loss of hair as well. I hide it well, but a little bit never came back on the sides. Careful ladies hair IS sensitive and you can damage yours permanently. Thankfully there are wonderful products and remedies that are hugely beneficial for hair. A relaxed, natural hair style is good for regrowth, and I used a combo of supplements good for hair growth especially adding in Keranique products as well as Viviscal. It worked wonders for me. 😁 For the record I HAVE NO SCARS HOWEVER.

I immediately wondered about this. I had a brow lift in March and I have a few scars that (so far) the hair hasn't grown back. It looks very similar to her pictures. I just add a little brown eyeshadow over the spots for now and have no issues

My best friend suffers from alopecia and this looks nothing like what I've seen. I haven't been convinced she has it.

I wondered the same thing. She appeared to have a headfull of short shaved stubble. That is not alopecia.
