The best fireplace video ever, hands down. The combination of slightly distant storm and fireplace is perfect. The sounds of the storm make you want to warm yourself by the fire. The fire's flames don't flicker too fast like some videos. And the crackling of the fireplace is subtle enough but soothing. 10/10!!

I love this sound. Growing up in a terraced house in the 1960`s with no central heating the fire place was the main form of heat. During the cooler time of year dad would get up and get the fire going. Me and my brother would roll newspaper up and form a knot so it would burn slower. Dad would get the kindle and coal from the outhouse and would light and "bank" the fire. Then using a poker and a sheet of the News of the World would cover the fire place to draw the air up from beneath the grate to get the fire going. We would watch the newspaper slowly catch fire from the middle like the map on the TV series Bonanza. One Christmas we were having family round so dad lit both living room and front room fires. The heat from both fires was so intense that it burst the balloons we had pinned to the ceiling as part of the decorations. We had to open the front door to let the heat out! We were the only house in the street with no snow on the roof. I spent many summer night waiting for the flash then counting till I heard the bang. I would not sleep until I heard the last rumble.
