GIS: GLOBAL AND LOCAL SPATIAL REGRESSION MODELLING

Regression analysis is a statistical method that predicts the value of a dependent variable (y), based on a known, independent variable (x). It assumes a functional form using a line of best fit to model the relationship between two variables, where the associated equation can be used to make estimations beyond the modeled data. Linear regression modeling makes the following four assumptions: linearity, homoscedasticity, independence, and normality.
