Amazing talk! However I found the graphics to be distracting & counter productive. I would much rather have seen Brene Brown speaking or just the subtitles, though those did have a few minor errors.

Brene says some people were defined by shame. With emphasis really defined.
Actually this was their false belief. Not to be defined by.

I love listening to these talks....I have so much to learn.. But I can't watch the video ... Why is it that so many videos teaching about self love show beautiful, seemingly successful people in slow-mo looking forlorn but very attractive. .. For someone that has huge shame about a couple of specific very unattractive flaws, watching beautiful models looking like they need to learn about self love only reinforces my sense of disparity and that I'm not worthy of the self love that they disserve, and that only beautiful people are entitled to that.

Yet the number one tenant of the Christian faith in most denominations is excepting shame as your identity. Penal substitution is one of the most dangerous doctrines to human beings in all of history you were not born a sinner you were born perfect and flawless, and in the likeness of the creator and religion, and the twisted mind of man told you, you were a rotten, dirty sinner, full of shame.

I noticed that in the video, most of the characters were young, good-looking women in their 20's to 30's (some 40's). Do older people not count? Also, Afro-American people were sorely neglected. I ordered one of Dr. Brown's books, but now I am going to cancel.

I thought I was commenting to Brene Brown, I know who she is, I still don’t appreciate hearing the language, but understand the emotions behind childhood trauma and abuse… not offense to you!
