Below are the materials I used to create my 92” x 60” headboard (4x panels at 23” x 60”), perfect to add that oversized look to my queen-sized bed! Keep scrolling for an alternative list of materials at a lower price point!
Materials I Used:
- 2x Panel hanging hardware ($27.98)
- 2x Foam mattress topper (3” x 54” x 74”) ($90.84)
- 1x Box of staples ($2.97)
- 2x Plywood (15/32” x 4’ x 8’) ($50.92) - Have Lowe’s cut them down to 4x pieces of 23” x 60”
- 1x Spray adhesive ($12.98)
- 1x Batting roll (90” x 108”) ($17.99)
- Dust cover fabric (3 yds x 90”) ($16.77)
- Corduroy fabric (4 yds x 56”) ($55.96)
Total: $276.41
More Affordable Materials:
- 1x Panel hanging hardware ($12.99)
- 2x Foam mattress topper (1”x 54” x 74”) ($37.46)
- 1x Box of staples ($2.97)
- 2x Plywood (1/4” x 4’ x 8’) ($27.08) - Have Lowe’s cut them down to 4x pieces of 23” x 60”
- 1x Spray adhesive ($7.80)
- 1x Batting roll (90” x 108”) ($17.99)
- Corduroy fabric (4 yds x 57”) ($47.96)
Total: $154.25
Note: If using this material list, there will be some slight differences from the headboard shown in the video. The primary difference is the overall depth of the headboard. Changes to the list of materials include: Thinner plywood, thinner foam padding, no dust cover, 50lb limit for hardware (sufficient for this project), and different fabric. Any or all of these changes can be made, but I recommend paying close attention to the dimensions of the foam and fabric to ensure you have enough material to cover each panel.
