You need to heat the metal, once it gets stiff...quench it it water to cool it, then continue working it. It's called annealing. You need to watch more videos before you try this.

Heating it until it turns grey will soften it, making it easier to work. Hammering it to shape will harden it again. Heat as often as you wish.
